Shane Weldon
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, I grew up in a caution-light of a town just south of Sylacauga. I graduated Valedictorian from high school, and earned my bachelor's degree, with honors, from the University of Alabama in 2001. After a year spent working at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Vance, I started at the Cumberland School of Law in 2002 and graduated in 2005 in the top third of my class. I waited tables to make money while I was in college and my first year of law school. My second and third years of law school I clerked for several Birmingham area law firms.
Those law firms represented insurance companies. After graduation, I spent a year working for a firm who specialized in that same thing. Our orders from the insurance company was to pay the victim as little money as possible, no matter their injuries. A year was all I could take. I started my own law practice and waited tables while I was building it. In 2010 my wife and I moved to the Mobile area.
I believe in today's society that people are too quick to run to the courthouse and file a lawsuit. I think filing a lawsuit should be the last resort in most cases -- that almost anything can be remedied with hard work and communication. That's what I can guarantee: hard work and full communication.
